If your Learner Adjustment Plan (LAP) includes a recommendation for an alternative form of assessment, you are responsible for requesting this adjustment when it is needed.
Having an alternative form of assessment listed in your LAP does not mean it will be applied automatically.
What you need to do
For each assessment where you would like an alternative form of assessment to be considered, you must contact your module lead as early as possible.
Your module lead will:
review the recommendation in your LAP
consider how the learning outcomes for the assessment can be met, and
discuss the available options with you where appropriate.
When to contact your module lead
You should contact your module lead as soon as you become aware of an assessment that may require an alternative format. This will give enough time for any necessary arrangements to be considered and implemented.
Important information
Alternative forms of assessment are considered on an assessment-by-assessment basis.
The recommendation in your LAP provides a basis for discussion, but adjustments will not be automatically applied to all assessments, and there are some assessments where they may not be possible. This is because different assessments have different learning outcomes and professional requirements that must be met. If you are unsure whether an assessment may be suitable for an alternative format, contact your module lead for advice.
