Throughout this process, you will receive information about York St John's travel insurance, should you find yourself in need of their services whilst overseas. You will be asked to attend a series of pre-departure webinars to support you in your preparation to go abroad. If you wish to discuss anything during your preparations, please book a Study Abroad appointment.

Disability and Wellbeing support

If you already receive support from additional teams at York St John (such as wellbeing or disability), then you should also speak to them about the support you require while abroad. If you are not currently receiving support from these additional teams and would like to contract their support, book an appointment through the link below.

When you are abroad, you will have access to our wellbeing partner, Spectrum.Life, who offers 24/7 counselling and other resources available through their portal.

If you are unsure or would like further guidance and support during your preparation for going abroad, raise a case in the Student Hub online portal to speak to a Disability Practitioner so they can help.

International support

Once you start applying to your host university, you may also receive support from the international team at the host university. They will be able to help you with their application process and advise you which visa you require, amongst other means of support to help you get started. Once abroad, they may have a variety of different services in place to help to support you.

Academic Advisers

You will be allocated a dedicated Study Abroad Academic Adviser who will help you with the academic side of your travels. Their help will cover areas such as selecting modules at your host university and other academic queries.

If you would like more information, please book a Study Abroad appointment.
