Module choices
Programmes typically include both compulsory and optional modules:
• Compulsory modules: mandatory for all students to take.
• Optional modules: allow you to tailor your studies by choosing modules that interest you.
When to choose optional modules
Who | When you choose | Semester | Typical dates* |
New students | Welcome Week | 1 | Mid-September |
Continuing students | Weeks 2-3 | 2 | Early February |
*Exact dates will be emailed to your University email.
How to choose optional modules
1. You will receive an email with the subject Online module selection for [academic year] now available notifying you module selections are now open.
2. Log into e:Vision.
3. Click on the Select or view your modules for [academic year] link to view your compulsory modules and a list of the optional modules you can choose.
4. Follow the on-screen steps and press Submit then Confirm to save your choices.
5. You will be able to see your choices on e:Vision after you have pressed Confirm.
Some programmes do not use e:Vision to make module selections. If this is the case, your School will email you with instructions.
Make sure every optional module you pick:
• Fits your programme rules.
• Meets any prerequisites.
• Keeps you on the correct number of credits.
Deadline
• You must choose your optional modules by the stated deadline.
• If you miss the deadline and do not contact us, we will enrol you on modules that still have space.
