Travelling abroad
As you are an international student you need approval from the Visa team before travelling. To avoid any disappointment, you will need to contact visa@yorksj.ac.uk. If you need to be away for more than three days then you will need to complete this form. Please note: All absences of 3 days or less during term-time must be reported using the absence report form.
Switching pathways
If you would like to switch pathways, this may be possible but depending on group numbers and how far into the current semester we are. You will need to contact enterpriseacademy@yorksj.ac.uk with the subject ‘Pathway change request’ with details of your current pathway, which one you would like to move to and why. We make no promises, but the team will try to accommodate as best as they can.
Switching groups on the same pathway
There may be occasions where your current EA classes do not fit your timetable, for example due to a family commitment or employment schedule clash. We can try to move you to another group, if there is capacity. Please email enterpriseacademy@yorksj.ac.uk with the subject ‘EA group change request’ and outline what group you’re currently in and which one you’d like to change to.
Check-in issues
If you were present in a class but the system is showing you were absent this could be due to an error. You will need to contact your mentor via email and inform them of this ASAP, please also CC enterpriseacademy@yorksj.ac.uk .
The system automatically times out and locks the register after a few days so you will need to act with urgency if you notice this issue.
I was present but my lecturer/mentor marked me as absent
It is at the discretion of your lecturer/mentor to decide whether or not a student was engaged with the session. If they feel that you were present but had no engagement with the session (cameras off and no involvement) they have the authority to decide if this counts as being present or absent. Just turning up to a session and remaining online does not suffice.
