Bystander Intervention training

All About Respect provides free online Bystander Intervention Training.

The training includes 4 video sessions:

  1. What do we mean by a bystander? (11 minutes) - This session gives an overview of the key issues around bystander intervention. It builds a strong foundation for possible intervention and helps you to identify potentially harmful situations.
  2. What is sexual harm? (30 minutes) - This session is an overview of the key issues around sexual harm. It builds a strong foundation for possible intervention and helps you to identify potentially harmful situations.
  3. What is hate crime? (14 minutes) - This session gives an overview of the key issues around hate crime. It builds a strong foundation for possible intervention and helps you to identify potentially harmful situations.
  4. How do we intervene? (24 minutes) - This session gives practical advice on the multiple ways in which intervention can take place safely. It also gives helpful information on how to support victims and how to communicate with perpetrators.

When you have completed the training, you can download a certificate on the All About Respect website.

Consent Matters is an award-winning online programme developed by experts and used by universities to support the development of a positive consent culture on campus. It enables York St John University to set clear expectations and provide information on clear communication, boundaries, mutually respectful relationships and the ways in which we can support others.

The course is mandatory for all new starters and encouraged for returning students to foster a safe and inclusive campus.

Changing Lives: Drugs and Alcohol

In this workshop, you will:

  • think about why people take drugs
  • learn about the impact of drugs and alcohol, including police involvement
  • find out what happens when you call an ambulance about a drug or drink overdose.

Hate Crime awareness training

In this training video, you will learn about protected characteristics

  • discover the difference between hate crimes and hate incidents
  • find out how to report a hate crime.
