There is strong evidence linking exercise to mental health; therefore, we are pleased to offer a structured exercise programme. 

 

This 6-week course of exercise classes is for YSJ students facing mental health challenges (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress). The classes will be facilitated by colleagues at YSJ Active, who are trained fitness instructors, with support from Mental Health Practitioners from the Wellbeing team.

 

Students will be offered a screening appointment before the course and a follow-up appointment with a Mental Health Practitioner to consider next steps after completion.

 

Classes will be on Wednesdays 11:00am-12:00pm held at the York Campus and can be accessed by emailing wellbeingenquiries@yorksj.ac.uk
