At York St John University, your learning might be assessed through an exam. The assessment information available in each module in Moodle will tell you if an exam is something you need to do.
Exams are used as a way of assessing your learning where:
- being able to remember and use information in controlled environments is an important competency
- a Professional Body requires exams in your degree course
If you have an exam on your degree course, you should develop your exam skills and your wellbeing resilience so that you can achieve the best results you can.
You will need to:
- develop memory and recall techniques
- use information you can remember
- choose and apply the best information for the exam question, and
- keep your knowledge for the exam topic refreshed
Everyone works differently, so it is essential that you identify your own effective ways of revising, remembering and recalling information, and working under exam conditions. Use self-development tools to help you develop your working processes.
We have 2 types of support available:
- Revision and memory self-development resources
- 1 to 1 or small group support.
