Digital tools, software, and your skills
Completing assignments successfully requires:
- understanding the task, and
- using digital tools to achieve your study or assignment goal.
Take charge of your own skills development. As you progress through your studies, you should develop your digital skills so that you can complete your assignments efficiently, to as high a standard as you can, using the best digital tools.
Depending on what is expected for each assignment, tools and software will allow you to:
- write documents
- produce and record presentations
- store files
- manage data
- create and design graphics and visuals, and
- develop portfolios.
At York St John University, it is likely that you will use tools and software familiar to you, as well as new tools and software that you will need to learn. Use self-development tools to help you develop your skills in digital software and tools.
