Applying for Study Abroad is a double application process. You initially need to apply to the YSJ Study Abroad programme and if you are successful, you will then apply to your host university later in the academic year.

In order to be considered for the programme, you need to meet the selection criteria below:

  • 50% minimum average mark (credit-weighted)
  • Submission of application form and personal statement by application deadline
  • Academic reference to support application

Applications for the YSJ Study Abroad programme are usually open from early December until early January. You will need to complete a form which includes answering three questions related to your motivation for studying abroad and what makes you a good candidate. You will also need to list your preference of host universities and provide other details about yourself. The form can be found on the Study Abroad website during the application period.

Before applying we recommend you do thorough research. Look at our website and research the host universities that are on offer for your course. You may also wish to speak to other support services at YSJ such as wellbeing and disability so you can discuss your support needs abroad.
