Is there funding available for studying abroad?
Yes!
All students who study abroad will receive a minimum grant of £750, subject to satisfying grant conditions. This will be from either the York St John University Bursary or the Turing Scheme. You can also claim for certain expenses, such as your flight and visa related costs through the Turing Scheme or through Student Finance. If you are a student loan recipient, you will also still receive your maintenance loan as normal.
The Turing Scheme
The Turing Scheme is the UK government's global programme to study and work abroad.
The scheme provides funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. Certain students are eligible for this Scheme, subject to funding allocated each year. Grants are between £12 to £18 per day, dependent on the cost of living in the host country and your personal circumstances. Disadvantaged students may also receive additional funding towards flights and travel related costs.
Those who receive Turing Scheme funding, and have a physical or mental health condition, can also receive up to 100% of actual costs for support directly related to their additional needs.
