How much does studying abroad cost?

Study Abroad students do not pay additional tuition fees while abroad.

We cannot give you a definitive answer as to how much your experience will cost. Each experience is different, and the cost of living may vary depending on your host country. Additionally, some host universities may require you to cover specific costs, such as meal plans, private insurance, and orientation fees. This will be confirmed by your host university.

There are some travel-related costs that you will need to pay for regardless of where you go, such as medical assessments, flights and visas. However, the cost of these will vary depending on which country you are going to. You will be able to claim partial reimbursements for these via the Student Loan Company if you are a loan recipient. You may also be able to claim for these through the Turing Scheme if you are a grant recipient.

Other costs you may need to consider are:

  • accommodation costs
  • textbooks
  • travelling within the host country and beyond
  • travel insurance, and
  • general cost of living.
