Views:
  • identifies you as a student at York St John University
  • is your University library card, and
  • is required for attendance monitoring, exams, collecting payments and other official documents.

To collect your student ID card, you must:

  • have completed both the online enrolment and registration tasks
  • have uploaded a suitable photograph.

If the photograph is deemed unsuitable, it will be rejected and you will be asked to send a new one, which could lead to a delay in your card being printed. Please review the guidance below to ensure that your image is suitable.

The photograph must meet certain requirements:

  • be a recent image in full colour
  • show only you in the photo (no other people or pets)
  • clearly show your face and eyes
  • show you facing forwards
  • be taken against a plain background, and
  • be in JPEG format, at least 300px by 300px in size

Your photo should not:

  • be a black and white image
  • be taken against a colourful background
  • be digitally altered with effects or filters
  • show you facing away from the camera
  • include other people or animals, or
  • show you wearing a hat or sunglasses.*

*Head coverings worn for religious or medical reasons are permitted. Prescription glasses may be worn, but your eyes must be visible and not obscured by glare or reflection.

Collecting your card


Upon completion of your enrolment, information regarding student ID card collection sessions will be made available to you via our website and via email.
