Resource Sharing Service and Inter Library Loan
If the York St John Library doesn't have what you need within their collections, the Resource Sharing Service can provide resources for study and research. This includes books, book chapters, journal articles, and theses.
The Resource Sharing Service uses a variety of methods to provide resources, including:
Interlibrary loan: Borrowing resources through their network of partner libraries and institutions
Open Access resources
SCONUL Access: A reciprocal scheme which allows many university library users to borrow or use books and journals at other libraries
Recommending public libraries, archives and special collections
Acquisition (if acquisition is the most appropriate and cost-effective way)
Request a resource
To request resource, complete the ILL request form. which is also available on the library catalogue.
The Library strives to provide resources as quickly as possible, primarily sourcing and delivering resources electronically. All requests depend on receiving items from other libraries, so supply times vary based on resource type, the lending institution’s processes, and resource availability. Please allow at least 2 weeks for a resource to become available, regardless of format. If a longer delay is expected, the Library will inform you.
If you have any questions, please contact librarycontent@yorksj.ac.uk.
