Library opening times
Your library provides study space, borrowable resources and flexible online access to resources.
Our opening hours have been designed to meet the needs of students on each of our campuses.
York campus (Fountains Learning Centre)
Fountains Learning Centre is open for browsing, borrowing and study space.
Our building opening times are:
- Ground floor: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- First floor: 6.00am to 11.59pm
- Second floor: 6.00am to 11.59pm
Our Library Services desk is open:
- Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 8.00pm
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Closed
The Library Services desk is closed on all bank holidays and University closure days.
Between 8.00pm and 8.00am a valid library/student ID card will be needed to use the building.
London campus
The library is located on Floor 3 of the London campus. The campus is open from 8.00am to 8.00pm, Monday to Friday.
The London campus Reception desk is open during most campus opening times and provides you with support in all aspects of the campus, including the library and accessing support. It is closed on bank holidays and University closure days.
A valid student or staff ID card will be needed to enter the building and to borrow library resources.
Library support services
Our specialist learning teams are available to help you Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm:
- Academic Liaison Librarians: Subject specific advice and support with library resources
- Digital Trainers: Training and support with University software and systems
- Study Development Tutors: Support with study skills and academic writing. Tutors are also available in the evening on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and available during the day on Saturdays.
- Assistive Technology Advisers: Training and support with assistive software
- Copyright: Guidance and advice on copyright and its relevance to you.
We also provide access to support from other specialist University learning teams, including:
- London Student Support and Guidance: London student support for study skills and English language skills
- Insessional Language Support and Development: advice and resources to support students with English as an additional language in approaching your course tasks and managing lectures, seminars, writing and reading in English.
