PGCE and School Direct (non-salaried)
The UK government offers bursaries and scholarships to students who want to study on a postgraduate teacher training course in England that leads to a qualified teacher status (QTS). Bursaries and scholarships are not available for every subject. You can check whether your subject qualifies by checking the Get into teaching website.
The amount you can get will depend on the undergraduate degree you hold and the subject your PGCE focuses on.
You cannot receive both a bursary and a scholarship. If you are eligible, you do not need to pay it back.
Postgraduate Doctoral Loan
Some funding bodies also offer a Postgraduate Doctoral Loan to help towards the cost of tuition fees and living costs while you study your doctoral degree.
