You may find it necessary to leave the University before completing your studies. If you are considering withdrawing, you should seek advice first. Please contact your Programme Lead and/or Academic Tutor to discuss the matter.

If you are struggling, support is available. You may find that once the right support is in place, you will feel in a better position to carry on with your studies.

You might wish to consider suspending your studies temporarily rather than withdrawing. Please refer to the Suspension of Study knowledge article.

Please look at the guidance on the implications of withdrawing:

If you decide to withdraw

Please log into your e:Vision account and go to Change of Circumstances to submit your withdrawal form online. For detailed guidance on how to complete the form, download our user guide here.
If you are in University accommodation, you should submit a case through the Student Hub online portal for our Accommodation team to assist you. Once your request has been processed,
the Student Records team will share the information with the Student Loan Company or other funding body.

Applying for a change of institution

If you wish to transfer to another university, you will need to apply to your chosen institution. We advise speaking to them to see what their process is for applying, as universities have different ways of dealing with this. We advise you to:

  • notify your Programme Lead at York St John University or your Academic Tutor
  • contact your funding body to seek advice on the transfer of your loans and grants to another institution, and
  • once you have received an unconditional offer of a place at another institution, you will then need to submit a request to withdraw from York St John University to end your time here. Please log into your e:Vision account and go to Change of Circumstances to submit a withdrawal form online.

As part of the process, you will need an official transcript of your studies at York St John to show the credits that you have gained.
