Before returning to studies, the Student Records team will contact you by email approximately 6 weeks prior to your expected return to University. This will be to:
- check your intentions on returning to study
- to ensure you can meet any conditions of return, and
- confirm re-enrolment instructions.
If you have been suspended on health grounds, you will be asked to provide medical evidence that confirms you are fit to return to your studies.
If you are enrolled on a teacher training programme and have been absent from the programme for a period of 6 months or more, you will be required to make a new application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to comply with school placement checks.
International students on a student visa will be required to apply for a new visa before their return to studies following a suspension of more than 60 days.
Before returning to studies, you are advised to contact your Programme Lead and/or Academic Tutor about how you should prepare for returning to your programme, and to discuss any potential support arrangements.
On returning, please ensure you are familiar with the following:
- Re-enrolment
- Assessment submission dates and/or examination dates
- Access to Moodle
- Module choices
- Access to your timetable
- Accessing support from the Disability Support and Inclusion team, where appropriate
- Accessing other available support services - Student Wellbeing, Student Funding Advice team, Study Skills.
If you do not respond to the University email by your expected return date, it will be assumed that you no longer intend to return to your programme. You will then be withdrawn from your studies at the University.
