To apply for a change of module, first speak to your Module Lead to check that your request is possible.
Please then log into your e:Vision account and go to the Change of Circumstances tab to submit your online request.

For detailed guidance on completing the e:Vision request, download the step-by-step user guide here: User Guide - Change of Module (Student)

When can I request a change of module?

Requests must be submitted before the end of the second week of the semester in which the module is taught.

If you are requesting to join a module that has already started, please make sure that you read and understand the Late Declaration section on your e:Vision request.

How long will this process take?

The Student Records team work within a 5 working day turnaround time. Your change of module request should be reviewed within this timeframe. You will be emailed with the outcome of your request to your York St John email account.

Why has my request been declined?

There may be a number of reasons reasons as to why your request to change module has been declined. For instance:

  • You have submitted the request too late in the semester, so it is no longer possible to change modules due to the amount of teaching that has been missed.
  • The module you have requested to move onto is at full capacity.
  • The module change you have requested is to remove a compulsory module from your programme.
  • The optional module combination you have requested is not a valid structure for your programme. You can find out more about the structure of your programme by contacting your Programme Lead, or by checking your Programme specification here: https://www.yorksj.ac.uk/programme-specifications/
