Before you move into your accommodation, you will need to complete your online induction through the Accommodation hub which you used when you first applied for your accommodation. The induction will give valuable information on moving into your accommodation as well as details on our health and safety policies.

Arriving on the main Arrivals weekend in September

  • You will need to book an arrival time slot as part of the induction process.

  • Slots are available from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2026.

  • Keys will need to be collected from the Holgate building on the main campus during these dates only.

  • Once you arrive at your accommodation site, you will be able to park to unload your vehicle but will then need to move it to an alternative car park to allow others to unload their belongings too. ANPR cameras are in place and charges will apply outside of these dates.

  • If you are staying in one of our partner accommodation sites, please contact them directly for arrival arrangements, as their dates and arrangements may differ.

Arriving on another date

  • If you are part of our Early Start programme, you may arrive a few days before Arrivals Weekend. Find out more on our Early Start programme page, or email disabilityadvice@yorksj.ac.uk.

  • If you need to arrive on any other date, you will need to collect your keys from the main campus:

  • Porters Lodge (open 7.00am to ~6.30pm, Monday to Friday)

  • Outside of these opening hours, you will need to contact the Security team:

  • Security Office (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

  • ANPR cameras are in place on Campus, and at Limes Court, The Grange, and City Residence. Charges will apply outside of arrivals weekend if your vehicle is not temporarily registered with the University or you do not have a parking permit approved by the Estates team.
