How we inspect your accommodation

If you are living in university owned accommodation, our Campus Services team will carry out inspections of the communal areas of your accommodation 3 times per year.

You will be given prior warning of this. However, the exact date of the inspection will not be specified. 

During the inspection, we will be looking for anything that may indicate you are not following the requirements of your accommodation contract. This will include:

  •     checking for an overall standard of cleanliness
  •     checks for damages
  •     evidence of smoking
  •     unreported maintenance issues
  •     general health and safety concerns

If your accommodation does not meet the standards set out in our Terms and Conditions during your inspection, you may be subject to future additional inspections, which may include checking that bedroom areas are of a suitable standard of cleanliness and there is no damage or any health and safety concerns.
