WiFi in university accommodation
This article is only relevant to students on our York Campus.
The way WiFi is provided depends on whether you are in our halls of residence or in our university managed housing. Read the relevant section below to find out more.
Halls of residence WiFi
Wifinity is the WiFi provider in our halls of residence accommodation. The first time you use our WiFi, you should be able to connect to the -Wifinity onboarding- signal and use this to register and set up an account.

If this does not provide you with a solution to the WiFi issues you are experiencing, please contact Wifinity for support:

If there are WiFi issues within a household, then all affected residents should contact Wifinity individually.
If the problem is not resolved by Wifinity, please log a case on the Student Hub.
In your case you should provide:
- details of the issue
- a Wifinity reference number, and
- a description of Wifinity-s response to your initial report.
University Managed Houses (UMH) WiFi
Details of the WiFi provider and information on how to access WiFi in your University Managed House (UMH) will have been provided by the Accommodation team before your arrival.
How to report WiFi issues in University Managed Houses (UMH)
WiFi issues will need to be looked into by the landlord of the property and should be reported in the same manner you report any maintenance and repair issues. If you are unsure of the correct landlords contact details, then please contact the Accommodation team who can provide this information:
