Blue Badge Holders
There are minimal disabled parking spaces on the York Campus because it is located in the City Centre.
If you have a “blue badge” you will be guaranteed a Parking Permit for campus and your York St John accommodation site, but unfortunately not a space. You must apply for a York St John parking permit, as the site has an “Automatic Number Plate Recognition” system in place. The parking permit is FREE, it is just a way for us to have details of your vehicle on our ANPR system.
Parking Permits for students who do not hold a Blue Badge
York St John University offers limited parking permits for students based on specific eligibility criteria. Whether you are living in York St John accommodation, commuting from outside York, or on a placement, please review the guidelines on the website to understand the application process and requirements.
There is no parking on campus unless you have a Blue Badge. The University accommodation sites are used for student and staff parking. These sites are within 15 and 25-minute walk to the York Campus.

The Grange YO31 8SU – 115 spaces
Limes Court YO31 0AE – 27 spaces
City Residence YO31 8JY – 29 spaces.
All parking is on a first come first served basis and does not guarantee a parking space.
Parking Permit Cost
A Student Parking Permit will cost £60 a year, applications open 1st August each year. Reductions are in place for car sharing and low emission cars, with less than 100gCO2/km. Proof of emissions level must be provided when applying for or amending a parking permit.
